Hermes 3000 platen knob fix

   




                               This is the stuff I used
             to make a mold.It would have
             worked with different casting
             material.  




                            
                               I did look into 3D printing
             but it is still pricey.

Ha! I love it!. you should have used glow-in-the-dark stuff, tho. Never trip over your machine in the dark again :D

Nice! I wonder if you could use a milk bottle cap (like these: http://www.stpaulschichester.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/bottletops.gif the bonus is that they are usually bigger than the ones used on standard water bottles)as a mold/outer surface for the knob - either temporary (if the polymorph does not stick to it) or permanent. Bottle caps usually have some grooves inside so maybe the bond would last for a while.
